I used to tell people this and they never believed me so I guaranteed that I could drop my new site from 2 950,000 to under 100,000 in 3 months (the alexa cycle).
I got it to 87,000 by visiting myself and having 3 others visit from time to time.
It finally made it to 25k or so before I got bored and it went back up and is stil around 200k.

Alexa does is a good tool. If you don&#039;t manipulate the rankings you will notice over time the alexa graph will most likely mimic your traffic stats graph over the same time period. It holds true for mine in many cases typically higher traffic sites.
