Mothers Day Campaigns

I have been messing around with terms such as “Mothers Day Flowers” and not seeing a return; promoting offers which paid out like $15.00 per lead. I thought an offer like that would perform pretty well but I guess I’m wrong. I know most SEM’ers don’t reveal their secrets but I’m just looking into covering seasonal niches. Maybe if your extremely talented with PPC you should try “Mothers Day Dating” lol.

On another note; here is a picture of Me, Shawn Collins, and Brian Littleton the owner of Shareasale.com /a picture of Me, Shawn Collins, and Lisa Picarille (both industry leaders).

Back From AD:TECH SF 2007

Wow, It has been one hell of a week at AD:TECH San Francisco! When flying into San Fransisco i was thinking about just getting my work done and not networking/talking etc. I totally didn’t follow my own directions (i passed out 400 or so business cards/received 400 or so business cards). I had such a great time and met hundreds of industry leaders; people who i hope to be like one day! Since i made a post about the first day at AD:TECH i will write more in-depth about the days when the whole EXPO was open (the highlighted days).

Wednesday April 25th/Day 2
I got up bright and early (7 45 am) so i could be one of the first 10,000 people at the show. After showering, and getting ready i called a cab and they said they would be in front of my door in 10 minutes. The cab got there 40 minutes later. I ended up getting to the show at 9 15 am and was floored by the amount of booths, people, free stuff, and of course ATTENTION I GOT FOR MY AGE
After going to see all my affiliate managers i decided to start networking; which was a pretty easy thing to do when you look 5-6 years younger than everyone else. I kept walking from booth to booth, shaking hands and explaining what I do. I met so many interesting leaders and had a great time. I was so excited to see all the people i talk on the phone with 24/7 in person. Now i really know who i work with. I had a great time being interviewed by Mediatrust.com they were interviewing me for 2 blogs; 1 about the COOL affiliate program AdValiant and another one about the whole convention in general. I will show you guys those video’s when I get them! In addition to being Filmed i was interviewed by Daron Dabin of Webmasterradio.fm he asked me some cool questions and it was fun getting to chat with the SEGURU! I also got to meet another Web-Celebrity by the name of Neil Patel; he was a GREAT guy and i enjoyed talking to him. After all of the commotion of the 1st day of the Convention i decided to tag along with the guys of Mediatrust and go grab a bite to eat. While walking to dinner the CEO Peter received a call informing him that Him/His network had won the “Best Affiliate Marketing Offer” with www.playphone.com We were all happy to hear that and went to a great sushi dinner to celebrate (If you do ringtones try this offer out it ROCKS)! I got home around 10pm and checked emails etc. Than i went to sleep and woke up around 9 15 to PIMP myself out at DAY 2 of AD:TECH SF!

Thursday April 26th/Day 3
Thursday was awesome because i networked with numerous industry leaders (more than the previous day)! I got to the show around 10 25pm and was ready to rock. I ran around the whole show meeting people and becoming acquainted with more and more people. I went and spoke to my friends at MediaTruth and they introduced me to some smart smart people! They introduced me to a guy named Nate who runs numerous dating sites. I will now be helping him get some attention to his websites (if you run dating offers hit me up at Harrison@gevirtzmedia.com ). We went to lunch with my friend Dave who owns some huge websites and had some cool Asian food. It was this restaurant where the servers walked around with big trays and you just said “give me this one; can i try that one” etc etc. It was really fun.
After going to lunch i went back to the show and helped webmasterradio interview various booth owners. I ran around the whole floor with Eddie (webmasterradio.fm’s producer) and interviewed a bunch of smart people (including someone who interviewed me the night before) i also interviewed Shawn Collins who is an industry expert. I had a great time interviewing people! After that i invited my dad to the floor and i introduced him to my affiliate managers and now he fully understands what i do! Following the interviewing/Introduction of my business to my dad i shook hands with numerous smart people. Now i am going to be running some new advertisements on my sites! I ended up socializing till the very last second of the show. Following the show i went and got a quick dinner with Nate to discuss his websites.
I flew back at around 8pm and was even networking in the plane (someone from ADECN was int he seat behind me and i got his card).

I had a great time at ad:tech and am excited for the next conference!

Thanks For reading my rants,
harrison

Being The Youngest Kid At AD:TECH San Fransisco

Hey everybody,
i am so happy i was able to attend ad:tech. I have been here since earlier today and have learned a great deal of things including that conventions RULE! I think its fun that i get to actually attend a convention and be the youngest guy there; which gets me numerous little smiles and “What do you do?’s”

I was interviewed by a company called www.vidpr.com and they said they would e-mail me the video in 10-14 days (i will be sure to post it here. I talked about being young and the struggles of being young in the affiliate marketing industry.

I also saw Shoemoney walking around (i was to scared to go and say hi lol). and i am just ecstatic about this whole thing! I have been meeting numerous people and am enjoying this whole convention.

Tomorrow is the BIG DAY with the actual convention floor open! I am so excited to meet my affiliate managers and get free food (on their treat of course lol). So if you see me be sure to yell at me or something!

Hit me up,
Harrison

Incentive Websites

Being someone who earns a living using various means of online advertising i tend to come up with cool ideas which i think would make me a lot of money if I had the capabilities to actually start something like X or Y. Well I have come up with an idea which is simply out of my/my developers leagues of expertise. I have seen websites like this but my idea is superior (because i said so).

Well you guys have read my boring little introduction and I think its time I tell you my idea! I think a good incentivization website which actually paid users for leads and was coded in such a way that users could have various payouts based on the amount of offers they sign up for would be a cool idea. There are numerous Incentive’s websites out there which all have standard rates and payout at the end of the month or give users “Gifts” (websites such as www.giveawaycafe.com do gifts). The complicated thing in my head about some sort of incentive website like this is a way to actually automate a script into determening payouts for each individual “Affiliate”. I know its not that complicated but when I actually formed the idea it was like 5x better but i forgot it from the time i came up with the idea to now :(

Goodnight - See you guys at AD:TECH

Establishing a brand

I have talked with numerous affiliate marketers about what they feel the strongest about when optimizing a conversion rate/bettering the changes of a sale and I have come to the conclusion that establishing a brand can be complicated but is probably the best alternative to not making any money at all :D.
When i google competitive terms like Refinance and Mortgage most of the sponsored listings are specially designed landing pages which rout people to an actual offer landing page. I believe this is becoming “In” and redirecting users with a meta-refresh is becoming “Out.” I’ve ask friends of mine what they thing and we both agreed that building a brand for your ring-tone or refinance offers (or any offers) will increase your ROI. I am not suggesting you spend hundreds of dollars to create a “cute” little landing page and put links to 850,000 offers onto it. I am just recommending that establishing a name for your specific landing pages will probably optimize your conversion rates.

For example; when you google “Hip Hop Ringtones” the first two ad-words advertisements are:
HipHopRingtones

If you notice the first advertisement is actually a full website with links to CPA offers. I am guessing that the first advertiser up there is seeing a better return compared to the 2nd guy (first off the second guy says get “HOP” ringtones in addition to being a very ugly standard website with 4 buttons to different carriers). The first page is more of a straight to the point page but is more colorful and probably makes more money. Just a few colors tags and maybe a brand (such as “Get-Your-Ringtone.com” -the site i pointed out*).

Its just an idea… Post your feedback
Harrison

* I have nothing to do with www.Get-Your-Ringtone.com

Being Young Sucks!

It’s TAX time everybody… I have been lagging about my taxes/putting them off for months. Yesterday i realized “Oh Shit they need to be done by Tuesday.” So of course i pulled out the phone book and started trying to call some places. My first thought was to call one of those little tax places like “H&R Block” so i cold save money. So i pick up the phone and call H&R Block. I say “Hi i wanted to make an appointment to get my taxes done.” Instead of the person on the other side of the phone all they did was hang up on me because i sounded young. So after trying the other H&R Block in my town i was 0/2 and was getting a little worried. Than i saw the number of a big accounting company and figured “Hmm i will try it.” So i call them and before i say “I need to make an appoinment” (I just said Hi…) i was hung up on… I finally found a place but next year i am going to purchase a voice changer so i dont sound young (so people take my seriously)

Nobody Reads This Fucking Thing

Hey guys,
I am getting bored of writing a blog that nobody reads. What should i do to increase traffic on my “Mini Blog.” I enjoy blogging but feel I would enjoy it even more if i actually got input from my readers (if they exist etc.) If you have any ideas my ears are open.

Thanks,
Harrison
