So how about a blog with real content?
So after the haters have complained about the ancient Wordpress theme on cpashare.com, I had my designers make this one. Tell me what you think– besides the fact that the comments portion isn’t working properly at the bottom. But clearly, having a crappy blog design MUST mean that I don’t make money. And if I don’t post photoshopped pictures of checks of my affiliate earnings (I get wires, for those of you do enough volume to know), then it must also mean that I’m not the real deal. So who really cares?
This blog could have a pink background with bunny rabbits, gold chains, and hundred dollar bills. Would that make this blog worth reading? I don’t know about many of you, but I read blogs to learn what’s going on in the industry and there are some folks who come here in the hopes of gaining some tips to help grow their affiliate earnings. My goal is to be helpful voice in a sea of a babblers, who bring down the conversation to useless forum chatter. I’m not a god by any means, (hey– I’m only 16) but at least I’m striving to share useful tips. So don’t come here to hate and basically dumb down the conversation. Reading the comments here often makes me feel like a full-grown adult– you lurkers know what I’m talking about.
You’re going to see a lot more articles here– on more than just affiliate marketing networks, and I welcome feedback on whatever you think I should write about. I’m not the “last word” on affiliate marketing, but at least you’ll get a thoughtful answer.

Leave the kid alone, he can’t even see a rated “R” movie yet. Keep up the good work bud, great information.
Comment by nate — September 4, 2008 @ 8:49 pm
Well, you’re not a “God” because you’re 16 years old, but you won’t be a “God” when you’re 36, 56 or 76 either. It’s not about theology, right?
Now that the religious discussion (heheh) is out of the way, I must admit I have been reading all your blog articles both here and on your road show on the Uber-Aff / Shoemaker sites with some great interest and ’spect.
The Centurion card is impressive enough (as long as it’s paid Net 30 as you mentioned, but the real value is in quality of sharing your knowledge in the CPA/PPC and Aff marketing space.
Kudos to you on that aspect; your writing on those subjects is fresh and revealing.
I’m RSSubscribed.
Comment by Robin Majumdar — September 4, 2008 @ 10:23 pm
Actually Nate, hey can see an “R” rated movie because they probably wouldn’t ask for his ID if he was paying with a credit card…right?
Harrison- Love the new design, but I told you already. haha
Good job dude
Comment by Roman — September 4, 2008 @ 10:33 pm
Well, I’ll go ahead and request the ever popular - “What to Sell/Promote?” topic.
Even if it’s not your most cutting edge idea, I think examples of past decisions and your rationale behind them would be interesting.
Also I think posts where you call B.S. on bad MMO advice or conventional wisdom would be both fun and helpful.

I love the design keep the content coming and I will be here to read it.
Comment by Austin — September 4, 2008 @ 11:58 pm
Perhaps put the navigation to the right instead of the left. Also, the font should be different. Your subscribe links at the top should at least color differently on hoover.
Comment by wesley — September 5, 2008 @ 1:23 am
Kid, you talk the lingo but you suck. Your Indian web designers suck and if you are paying them then you are getting hosed. I am not a web designer but I run over 20 sites I built myself with all the tools available out there for anyone to create a professional looking website and they look allot more professional then any of your work I have seen. You talk the talk but you do not walk the walk.
Another point, if your so called clients ever saw this blog of yours they would dump your ass, I would. Your immature emotional responses to posters like me and your profanity in some of your comments is unprofessional.
Tip- if this was my blog I would delete comments made like the ones I make here. You are obviously still green kid.
Are you going to the Hoemoney hoe down in San Diego? Hope to see you there!
Comment by Hey Kid — September 5, 2008 @ 1:41 am
Holy crap, found your site today wand was wondering why you kept with a generic theme. But for I had a chance to check out your blog I went out and got my self a cup of coffee, came back and hit refresh… BAM! I thought it was a new plug-in that changed your theme everytime you hit refresh.
New theme looks good.
And ‘Hey Kid’ why don’t you show us some of your ‘20′ sites so we can see if you walk the walk??
Comment by Blake — September 5, 2008 @ 2:09 am
I would show you my sites but this pimple dick deletes them. He does not want spam here even though he is in the spam business.
Comment by Hey Kid — September 5, 2008 @ 2:31 am
This theme sucks
Comment by Hey Kid — September 5, 2008 @ 2:32 am
Hey sport, Wordpress offers tons of free skins that look allot better then this pos. Hope you did not pay for this crap theme. If you did then you are a moron!
Comment by Hey Kid — September 5, 2008 @ 2:34 am
LOL how about a little Domain Dot Com I’m sure Harrison and the readers would love to see your mad skillz!
Comment by Blake — September 5, 2008 @ 2:36 am
Just watch what will be next from this pimple popping prick, eBooks and then the Cds on how to be an affiliate marketer. Who knows, maybe we will see this prick on late night TV selling his full CD package for half off if you call the toll free number now. ROTFLAMO
You can call yourself Affiliate Professor.
Comment by Hey Kid — September 5, 2008 @ 2:48 am
Yea… Blah Blah that’s what I thought, so what if he wants write ebooks and CDs? looks like someone is jealous hahaha
Comment by Blake — September 5, 2008 @ 3:06 am
lol, I’m no hater I just told you your design was ugly, and that was the truth :p
And I really think “Hey Kid” is Marla Milus, her ass got fired from United Airlines and now she seeks revenge and has no better idea than spamming your blog with comments that are full of jealously, obviously ^__^
Comment by marc — September 5, 2008 @ 3:14 am
I think that’s a pretty good guess
Comment by Blake — September 5, 2008 @ 3:26 am
Nice theme.
Comment by Daehee — September 5, 2008 @ 7:17 am
“HeyKid”
please stop visiting my blog. Your wasting my time..
and exposing my secret plan to market shitty ebooks on my blog
Comment by admin — September 5, 2008 @ 7:35 am
The whitespace at the top could be minimized, but it’s a HUGE improvement over what you had before.
But hey - as long as the RSS feed still works, I’m happy
Comment by Eric Nagel — September 5, 2008 @ 8:55 am
Why do you give the negative people so much attention? I think you should try to focus more on the positive comments. I think what you’re doing is great and the new lay-out looks good. I’m 18 myself and about to start an internet business, I learn a lot from your posts so keep up the good work.
Comment by Joost — September 5, 2008 @ 9:12 am
Harrison says: “But clearly, having a crappy blog design MUST mean that I don’t make money.”
You still aren’t understanding presentation very well. If you’re trying to establish yourself as credible, why not do it right?
As for my opinion of the site… well it’s not crap.. but for some reason you went with baby blue, despite what I told you about not attributing your youth to your site. If OTHERS want to talk about how young you are, that’s great.. you get lots of press from that. YOU should talk about content… you waive your “I’m only 16″ card around more than that credit card, which makes your “hey look at me, I’m credible” message, uncredible.
Comment by Bob Dole — September 5, 2008 @ 9:27 am
Sharp-looking theme. Not half bad.
Comment by Monty's Mega Marketing — September 5, 2008 @ 10:42 am

Comment by Affiliate Marketing — September 5, 2008 @ 11:13 am
Hey! I think this new blog design is awesome and ten times better than your last one. BTW, I read your blog for the content not the design of it. I could care less if your blog is ugly but I love the content. Keep the content coming! Also do should do a question and answer section. Just a thought.

It’s a nice design.
You write long posts so it would be easier on the eyes if the normal text could be darker and the font a little larger. The links kind of get lost in the regular text.
Comment by Michelle — September 5, 2008 @ 12:54 pm
I like the new theme, if the knockers were making some real money they would not have time to piss you off. But I guess the abuse inspired you to make a change. Criticism can be channeled into positive motivation. Such is Life!
Comment by Bruno — September 5, 2008 @ 1:20 pm
Why do you even bother responding to dipshits?
If I were you than I would recommend just doing your own thing and ignoring the people that try and drag you down.
Oh by the way, I have 21 sites so that makes me > hey kid
(jk of course)

Wow, I liked it when there were like max 5 comments on your posts. Now everyone knows about you, haters and all.
Do you really need this?
Comment by Pex Cornel — September 5, 2008 @ 5:46 pm
Besides, all it’s doing is causing yourself undue stress. I think it’s pretty kick ass that you’re only 16 and you’re making a lot of money.
I’m still 9-5′ing it and it sucks.
Comment by Chris Guthrie — September 5, 2008 @ 5:47 pm
Don’t worry about the haters…What matters is how many checks/wire transfers you’re getting. The more successful you become the more haters there’s going to be, it just part of life.
P.S. Blogs looks great!

Hey Harrison,
I’m liking the new design! Keep the blog going, write whatever you want… it’s your blog after all! Congrats on your continued success!
Comment by Zac Johnson — September 6, 2008 @ 12:05 pm
Who cares what people think. Just keep doing what you do best. People are born to become obstacles. Some more than others. Keep busting through them until you can get a good look back on them all. Keep teaching and dominating.
Comment by Jay Tillery — September 6, 2008 @ 2:43 pm
Just curious…what blogs do like reading?
Keep up the good work and don’t pay no mind to the haters. Like the poor they will always be with us.
Comment by Richard Ruth — September 6, 2008 @ 4:22 pm
Ignore the “haters” Harrison. They’ll be on you next about standards compliance or some other nonsense. “ugly sites” convert, anyway. Most of the hot s*** sites are for nothing more than ego boost.

5 Ways to Suck at Affiliate Marketing
1. Don’t own the product.
Check out ClickBank and look for the stuff with high payouts. Write a quick review telling your readers how awesome it is when in fact you know fuck all about it and it could be porn for all you know. Make sure you don’t make actual business decisions. Say, “I don’t want to pay for it!” to save yourself money in the short term and ignore the fact that doing a shitty sales job will lose you far more than the purchase price in the long term.
2. Don’t review the product.
Look at the advertising section on your blog or website and realize that nobody’s paying you to advertise. Figure it would be a good idea to fill that space with something, and plop a few pretty affiliate banner ads in there. Don’t tell your readers about it — just plop in the ad. Whatever you do, make absolutely certain those banners link directly to the advertiser’s website, not to your review. Do not presell, just let the advertiser do all the work. Cross your fingers that you’ll make some sales.
3. Be a big fat liar.
Review the product and make ridiculous claims about how wonderful it is. Say it can do things that it can’t. Forget that most electronic products and software have return policies and assume that any sale made through your link is one that will make you some cash, regardless of whether or not the customer keeps the item. Do everything you can to ensure your readers will never trust you again.
4. Pay no attention to returns or return policies.
Make no inquiries as to the return rate of the product, or what the advertiser’s return policy is. Think your readers are too dumb to care about return policies. Think the advertiser is dumb enough to pay you even though the item is returned.
5. Ignore your ads and anchor text.
Pay no attention to Advertising 101 — ad blindness. Grab your favorite banner ad, slot it in, and never move it. Ensure your readers ignore your ad, always and forever. At the same time, don’t link to your review from within your blog. If you do get it together to link to it, use lame anchor text. Whatever you do, DON’T use anchor text that could result in search engine traffic — and therefore sales — like “SEO School Review” or “review of SEO School”. Use something like “Click here” instead.

Someone has to give your readers good advice before the Google Adwords money vacum destroys their lives.
