How The Web Changes Part 1

Filed under: CPA Networks, CPA Offers, PPC, news — admin @ 5:27 pm

I’ve enjoyed this crazy industry for almost 5 years now. Things have changed, and changed again, and they continue to change on a day to day basis. It’s what keeps things interesting. This post is here to just go over several small, and large changes that I’ve witnessed first hand in the internet advertising industry over the last 4-5 years. It’s one hell of an industry, that’s for sure!
When I first got into the affiliate marketing game I learned my online fundamentals with various blackhat techniques. Back in the day spamming a social network was easy cash and nobody seemed to care, until users on sites started complaining to the sites, advertisers, and even CPA networks. I watched networks, and spammers face the wrath of fox and myspace and I got out of that game very quickly. Following this I had my first legitimate run at Affiliate Marketing, promoting ringtones on Google AdWords, MSN AdCenter, and Overture. When I started running these campaigns using the word “Free” in your advertisements (Example: Get Some Free Ringtones) was completely acceptable, even encouraged by some advertisers. Slowly that became “Illegal” and I watched people work there ways around these regulations using words like “Gratis” and “Complimentary” or “Get Your Bonus Ringtones.” Nobody seemed to have a problem with “Complimentary” for over a year. Time passed, now when we promote ringtones the pricing information is plastered all over the landing page, you cannot mention Free, Bonus, anything really regarding getting ringtones and a deal. The only real sales pitch is “Get Some Ringtones, They Are Cool.”

In the mobile world people continued to get more and more creative, I remember buying media promoting “Crush” and “IQ Tests” initially these offers only mentioned the $9.99 per month pricetag on the very bottom in the page in hard to read text. I don’t know the exact chain of events in the Quiz/Contest type mobile offers but now these offers display the pricetag on each and every page of the simple “quiz” as well as on the confirmation page (A user receives a text with a pin, they have to confirm it on the website) there is a huge check box requiring users who wish to subscribe to check which states they understand the charges. Surprisingly to this day at EWA we continue to subscribe thousands and thousands of people each day on those IQ offers.

Promoting Dating campaigns on Pay-Per-Click used to be the easy thing to do, it racked in a ton of cash for me.. I remember promoting Singlesnet, Fling, and tons of other sites using Chat Keywords . These advertisers wanted my traffic so badly, They continued to beg for it. Than one day singlesnet and true told me to Pull all of my chat traffic (which was all of my traffic). I remember for months getting hounded by Affiliate Managers about running dating traffic again, when it was virtually impossible for me to get any traffic on Non-Chat Keywords. Now Dating is thriving once again, and is one of the most consistent verticals out there. When I go Google “Dating Chat” I see no affiliate ads which in my eyes is a crazy loss of opportunity, too bad the advertisers hate it so much!

Im going to keep on going, discussing the changes of Rebills, Credit Reports, Debt Consolidation, and tons of other changes I’ve seen in this industry soon. There are simply too many topics, verticals, and changes that I’ve seen to discuss in one post!

Where I’ve Been

Filed under: Big Project, CPA Networks, travel — admin @ 8:42 pm

I’ve received numerous e-mails lately from fellow marketers where I am, What I’m up to and why I’m not blogging. Well I’ve just been extremely busy with my partner Ryan Eagle building our private network EWA. Ryan and I launched EWA in February and have been growing the network since. We’ve kept our business model a little different than competing networks making it more simple to get paid but a little harder for random affiliates to get accepted. We keep our network private, making it so you have to know me, ryan..or one of our active affiliates running on the network. Although we don’t accept everybody because of this there are perks to being approved in the network, these are: Weekly payments from day one (Everyone get’s a check or wire on Thursdays for the previous week’s volume regardless of how much this makes cash flow a problem of the past for affiliates), the Highest payouts - Running an offer I don’t have? Let me or Ryan know and we’ll find that offer and beat the payout for you within 72 hours! Best of all, our affiliates get our help.. EWA is a network which realizes the flaws in other networks and seals that gap when you really need advice on an ad or a campaign hit us up we really are here to help affiliates and grow there business with us :).

I’ve been traveling quite a bit lately for work all over the country focusing on the business development aspects of our network and having a blast at the same time. Meaning, if your an advertiser, E-mail me ;)!

Just a side note, Last year around this time I decided Blitzlocal was not the path I wanted to go on, Marketing online Balling style is how I do it and I split. I have absolutely nothing to do with blitzlocal in any way shape or form; and I’m very glad to say that.

Enjoy your holidays everybody I hope to see you all in Vegas at Affiliate Summit. I’m going to try and be more active on my blog from now on.

Free Unique Offer Idea For You Guys!

Filed under: CPA Networks, CPA Offers, Ideas, PPC, Search Engine Marketing — admin @ 1:22 am

Hey guys,
I have been e-mailed the question of ‘what to promote’ numerous times and I have had this unique idea for promoting Affiliate program affiliate programs through PPC but in a more honest opinion type of matter which I want to do and am probably an idiot for giving away, when you get rich just e-mail me and I’ll give you my paypal ;)

I briefly thought about an idea similar to the one I’m giving to you guys like 6 months ago when I referred a lot of people to Millnic Media and made low $x,xxx off that 6% commission. I wanted to start promoting Millnic on the affiliate blogs by buying advertising but decided not to when I noticed they already were on the spots that I had hoped to approach, so I never did anything with until recently.

Just a few weeks ago a friend of mine asked me for a signup link to Incentaclick and I gave it to him happily. I than forgot about it until last week where i had earned over $2,000.00 from just one friend, I have now signed up one more person and am continuing to get more people signed up under me for as many networks as i can decide.

So This Is What You Can Do To Make Money
Make a landing page that has like 3-4 affiliate networks logos on the page with a rating you give them (Give an honest opinion, don’t rate the one that pays 5% out a 10/10 and the one that pays 2% a 3/10 the 2% one will probably make you more money). Write honest reviews for each of the networks, if you haven’t done much with that specific network just go look at their main website and see if you can figure out what to write from that. Once you do this collect a bunch of affiliate marketing relevant keywords; some that I would gather would be Affiliate Network Names (They can be the ones on your landing page or competing networks, both work), Big Blog names like shoemoney and johnchow etc, and last but not least use content network on some of those blogs (have not tested this but it is something I plan to test when I get to promoting networks through ppc)

Let me remind you as I don’t think I explained myself correctly. I have not promoted any affiliate networks affiliate programs through the methods I have suggested yet but I will be working on it when I am not swamped to the brim. I noticed that this is a niche with money to be made and I figured I’d blow it and let you guys make tons off of it instead.

Heres Where I Benefit From This, Here are MY affiliate links from a few networks you should sign up if you haven’t: Incentaclick - Ask For Debrani Copeac - Ask For Danielle Neverblueads - Ask For Victoria Azoogleads
RocketProfit Millnicmedia Pepperjam Network XY7 and HydraMedia

Tell me what you guys think of my idea,
-Harrison

Really Defining Search Marketing

Filed under: Big Project, Branding, CPA Networks, CPA Offers, MASSIVE PROJECT, optimize — admin @ 4:05 am

So Today (Monday) i recieved an e-mail from somebody who really wanted me to go in depth about what i do online and to really give the ‘new edge’ affiliate marketer the basic tips to really optimize campaigns, sites and earn the bragging rights to say “i earn money online.”

First off; wanted to let everyone know why i have been busy/not blogging as often. First of all i am in the process of launching an affiliate program. Right now its just personal friends as my affiliates and we are doing great; i am hoping to release the network to you guys at the end of my week. E-mail me if interested gevirtz media @ gmail . com
The other big project ive been working on is Uploadkey.com a project that ive been working on september. I am now officially able to give out a link as my developers are ready to start testing. I will post more in depth later this week.

Now; before i go in depth i want to give this little ‘explanation of what i do’ in ‘english’ this is what i usually tell people who ask me who arent computer geeks like me. “I generate leads for companies by generating traffic through a program called Google adwords which consists of the little ’sponsored links’ on the right page of google search” than they usually ask me how i make money with that and i say “when someone clicks on it i make money when the user signs up for the service or buys whatever i am promoting; than i am paid for a lead.” thats my non nerd explanation heres the good version now guys.

Now i am mainly promoting offers that i have on my network; some dating, some ring tones and now starting to do search on my Uploadkey.com project. When i do search campaigns i usually try to keep the concentration of keywords, ad groups, and ad’s small vs. the way i started (collecting as much as possible). Sure it lowers the click volume but i really like only paying for refined traffic. Why spend an extra 500.00 a day on less relevant lower converting clicks? It really helps :P

Campaign optimization is usually a hipe so i cant give very advanced suggestions and methods to keyword optimization but i will just give a few ‘ideas’ to optimize your campaign. 1st: Dynamic Keyword insertion (the {keyword:backup word} feature) can be a great addon to your ads if you somehow integrate it into your landing page ( purchase {keyword} now or something? ) This usually ads a great deal of trust to the user because they feel that you the vendor (your landing page) really know what they want. Another idea is to keep your bids low even if the google traffic estimator says your ad spot will be 4-6 and it will cost you $2-$3 per day; I have seen the google estimator say my ad spot would be 4-6 and i would get 1-2 clicks for $2-4 per day at .75 per click/following which i would bid $.25 per click and get spots 1-3 and get 500 clicks a day on one or two keywords (This is not always true!!). Last but not least; On your landing page i recommend making sure your landing page is seo friendly. It really helps with googles lame quality score!

Quality websites; I have seen people make money by investing/paying to have small sites coded for Under a thousand dollars and love to encourage small start up projects but currently i am in the process of a long haul site: Uploadkey.com (the name might change by the way) so i am not the type of guy to give advice on new small sites except for the 1 thing i do when i start a site. TIP: Whenever i make a new site i usually goto text-link-ads and spend about $50.00 on links just to send the new domain name/site a little trust.

Getting into an internet busy can be a profitable but very hard endeavor to jump into especially if you have little/no internet knowledge. But it is very doable. For vague tips and ideas i really can only encourage to not be hesitant to ask internet experts (webmasters, programmers, me, and other people that might not seem willing but are usually more than willing to give a “noob” some tips and help you become the next rich net mofo… lol

Tomorrow im going to be doing a combo which will consist of information on my new network+some ideas i have which i need to throw around with you guys to see if it could be profitable. (promotional ideas).

It’s good to be back guys,
later
p.s. is anybody going to the cpaempirebreakaway?

Do You Promote Dating??

Filed under: CPA Networks, CPA Offers — admin @ 4:01 am

Hey Readers,
for a few reasons i cant give reasons on why i’m not going into detail but i am looking for anybody who promotes dating verticals via search, banner, E-mail, whatever you do. I might have a biz opp for you that I personally think could be great for any affiliate marketer who is looking to really dominate the dating vertical.

Becoming Addicted To Wickedfire

Filed under: CPA Networks, Industry Friends — admin @ 7:27 pm

Hey Readers,
I have never really been that active on Wickedfire.com but i am slowly becoming extremely addicted to wickedfire. I’m happy that i’m addicted to an internet forum vs. something bad like crack or meth lol. If you want you should sign up and cause havoc like everyone else does on wickedfire.com ;)! By the way i did not get anything from this post.. For you people who think i got a kickback or something your 100% wrong… I just love wickedfire…

On another note.. I am getting impatient, millnicmedia was up for a few hours today but is back down, this is really sad to see a network like millnic go down for such a long amount of time. Some lame hacker kid has been dossing the site because he claims that millnic media allows all spam, they are COMPLETELY wrong! I have reported people to the owners of millnicmedia (jeremy and dan) and i have seen the links go down… I hope the piece of sXXt that is doing the dosing gets majorly sued by Millnicmedia, Directtrack, and anyone else affected by the major illegal actions taken by the kid…

Im out,
harrison

The Summer Boom

Filed under: CPA Networks, CPA Offers, Search Engine Marketing — admin @ 1:45 am

I have been thinking about this and I wanted to know if we were in agreement. I believe that this summer will be fu**ing huge! I feel that this industry is about to hit it’s peak. I’m not sure whats coming to the affiliate marketing industry but I think that whatever comes this summer is going to be a great explosion for the whole search engine marketing industry.

I was on the phone with Cameron Olthuis and we were talking about the next big boom in affiliate marketing. He said some things which enlightened me. There are so many industries which need to get into Aff marketing. In other words affiliate marketing is very limited to Ringtones, Blockbuster, E-mail submits, Finance and a few other niches which work well but people like me like to challenge the system and Want More! Affiliate Marketing needs to explore new horizons and small stores need to launch websites and affiliate programs so affiliate marketers can promote offers on a more local targeted scale vs. targeting a whole country or continent…

Thats My 2 cents, Lets see what happens this summer (Only like 12 school days till summer :D )

Millnicmedia Downage UPDATE!!

Filed under: CPA Networks, HELL — admin @ 9:19 pm

Harrison is ripping hair from his head
Directtrack decided to give millnic a break by getting them back up for like 2 hours… All was well, i was making some money and happy for uptime. BUT directtrack decided to go back down.

This is ridiculous… I Love Millnic and this is hurting them more than me… They trusted some shitty tracking company and are now being f***ed by them. I hope they give em a free month or send them a fruit bowl… Some sort of “Sorry” needs to be done!!

Directtrack Goes Down… Harrison Loses Money!

Filed under: CPA Networks, HELL — admin @ 12:21 am

WOW! we started this week on a GREAT start with Millnicmedia going completely down. I must say that directtrack is probably the most unprofessional affiliate tracking option out there. Being a webmaster for a little over a year I have been through DOSSING and i have always been able to get back onto my feet. I CAN NOT believe that after a Doss Directtracks “Powerful Servers” didn’t even stay online. What a disaster. I lost a nice chunk of money and am probably not even going to get my laptop this month due to the fact that I couldn’t work my magic. I think directtrack should buy me a laptop due to the fact that they can’t even handle a dos attack.

I hope directtrack fixes the problem sooner or later. You’ve already been classified as a f***ing joke on numerous blogs and I don’t see how you can achieve such a lower status than that.

Sorry To Be Rude But This Is a Joke,
I hope millnic SUES directtrack for 20 hours of simultaneous downtime
Later - Harrison :(
