The Summer Boom

Filed under: CPA Networks, CPA Offers, Search Engine Marketing — admin @ 1:45 am

I have been thinking about this and I wanted to know if we were in agreement. I believe that this summer will be fu**ing huge! I feel that this industry is about to hit it’s peak. I’m not sure whats coming to the affiliate marketing industry but I think that whatever comes this summer is going to be a great explosion for the whole search engine marketing industry.

I was on the phone with Cameron Olthuis and we were talking about the next big boom in affiliate marketing. He said some things which enlightened me. There are so many industries which need to get into Aff marketing. In other words affiliate marketing is very limited to Ringtones, Blockbuster, E-mail submits, Finance and a few other niches which work well but people like me like to challenge the system and Want More! Affiliate Marketing needs to explore new horizons and small stores need to launch websites and affiliate programs so affiliate marketers can promote offers on a more local targeted scale vs. targeting a whole country or continent…

Thats My 2 cents, Lets see what happens this summer (Only like 12 school days till summer :D )

I Need To Learn To Write

Filed under: CPA Offers, cpashare, optimize — admin @ 1:28 am

So I’ve been thinking about improving my writing skills and I have decided that I am on a journey to learn to actually write. Here’s my project for the next few weeks. I believe that improving my writing skills will help me with my PPC campaigns because better grammar on my landing page might help :D!

Here’s what I am going to do…
1. I am going to read up online about how to write well…
2. I am going to read some books from the library.
3. If you want to help me “Write good” (I’m only kidding when i said “write good” I’m def. better than that lol) Just email me Harrison @ gevirtzmedia . com
4. I will keep everybody informed on my mission to be the next William Shakespeare :D

I hope i can get to the point where I can actually understand my own fucking writing!!!

On another note Millnicmedia is STILL DOWN! iughewg984h9gto

So Whats Next?

Filed under: CPA Networks, CPA Offers, Search Engine Marketing — admin @ 3:17 am

I received an e-mail today from a good friend of mine asking me “whats next?” in numerous ways/areas. I was kind of weired out by the e-mail which made me feel like blogging about it. After reading the e-mail i really thought about what was next for affiliate marketing, contextual advertising, and display advertising. After starting at the wall for 30minutes i came up with 3 different conclusions (one for each vertical). It is late so I am sorry if you don’t see my greatest work but it gets the job done!

Affiliate Marketing
Being in the game for exactly a year on 5/28 (well thats when i had my first website) i have seen things come and go; ringtones and now blockbuster.com/netflix.com. Sooner or later something will stick/keep affiliate marketers busy for more than a few weeks to a month. Right now there are e-mail submits, trials, ringtones, downloads, diet deals, finance, and a million other verticals; I think that the vast selection of offers are going so start expanding some way or another due to the fact that passerby offers are becoming rarer and rarer to find. If there were to be a next big fad in offers (another passerby) i hope it has something to due with gas (oil) due to the fact that gas is soon going to be $5.00 a gallon (someone should create a “gas savings card” or something). When it comes to the over abundance of affiliate network I feel that making money with a network will not be as easy as it is now therefore some networks will eventually either sell to a bigger network or just close there doors for good. In the affiliate marketing field i think thats it hehe…

Contextual Advertising
Contextual advertising is fine for people like me and you but can be a pretty shi*ty thing for advertisers. When referring to contextual advertising being shi*ty for advertisers i am bringing up the vast topic of click fraud. Click fraud really brings down payouts in addition to the whole contextual industry. I feel that this will force ad networks to optimize the way they sell clicks, forcing publishers to provide IP logs or something frivolous. Another theory of mine is that Contextual and Display advertising will combine and form Contexsplay advertising which will be both cpc and cpm or something (I don’t know its just a guess)!

Display (cpm) Advertising
I feel that contextual advertising used to be great for webmasters and is slowly becoming shitty because there isn’t enough inventory to go around for publishers (in some networks such as valueclickmedia). This is a big problem therefore I think that display advertising networks need to start working together by sharing advertisers or buying/selling each others impressions. I am not going to go to in depth with display advertising because I don’t really use it as much. But; i tried :P

So here is my question to you; Whats next in the whole internet marketing industry?
see this as a ping to all of you ;)
Goodnight,

Scaling Your Earnings (1 of 3)

Filed under: CPA Networks, CPA Offers, Search Engine Marketing, Website Traffic — admin @ 12:44 pm

Hey,
Yesterday i had a conversation on AIM with a friend of mine who has spent 10.00 and made 25.00 per day for 6-7 months now. He wanted tips to scale his info. After telling him to keep trying/I analyzed some of his landing pages etc (i guess i helped him) i became intrigued and i decided to write a blog post.

Scaling an income on the internet with affiliate marketing can be extremely challenging because the odds are truly against you. With big guys making thousands daily they pretty much have a complete advantage over you. The main advantage they have over you is that they have already found the way to scale their income. These guys have resources up the wazoo and can get away with things us “little guys” can’t due to the fact that they suck off adwords employees and send gifts to the overture guys (im only kidding). I hope you can gain something out of my little post that will help you turn the 50.00 a day your making into 500.00 per day.

Switching from “Tests” to “PrimeTime”
Most people start a campaign putting in a small budget hoping to see some results so they know they will earn money. After seeing an ROI they usually up their budget a million times which will obviously generate you more clicks. One thing people don’t think about is your ROI usually doesn’t depend 100% on your budget; It mainly depends on who actually clicks your ads. I usually start my daily budget at something like $20-$50 and i slowly raise it and tweak it as i see a return or as i see a loss. My usual little plan is: if ROI=10% Raise Budget 15%… Wait 24 hours; If ROI goes down than decrease budget 5%. Than wait 1 day and if you see an increased roi up budget 25% Than repeat. Its weird and to be honest i don’t think im telling you my exact little rotation (im in class half asleep)! I see this as if I’m never in “Test Mode” and I am mostly in “PrimeTime Mode”.

Doubling Your Budget is not the only way to scale your income
If promoting specific niches which target specific users upgrading your budget might only increase your chances of paying more per click because specific keyword generated clicks can be generated. If your going to increase your budget how about adding some more ad-groups and some more keywords because your chances of seeing new clicks will greatly increase.

I only really feel like writing this much due to the fact that i have some work i need to finish up so I will continue sometime this week with “Scaling Your Earnings (2 of 3) which will cover scaling your income vs. scaling your expenses.

Thanks For Reading,
Harrison

Selecting an offer to promote

Filed under: CPA Offers — admin @ 12:59 pm

Selecting an offer to promote can be a very challenging tedious task for numerous reasons. After you read my post about how to chose an offer I hope you will be able to pick an offer without feeling an ounce of hesitation. I feel that before you jump on a specific offer you should analyze it using a few small but key factors.

There are a few things that I don’t do which include listening to statistics. Sure statistics wont do you wrong when a specific offer is killing it. But it doesn’t mean that you will rock with that specific offer. Therefore i analyze offers in specific niche’s so i already have a semi-feel for the offers to choose from. Rather than just clicking “All Offers” and being displayed 12,000 offers.

Before you decide “I want to promote blockbuster” and you go get a link, a mailing creative, a banner, or you goto key compete analyze the offer as if you actually were a consumer vs. staying in the one box of being an affiliate marketer. It really helps; sometimes I will call up a friend from school and ask them if they would buy those shoes, or sign up for this insurance offer.

Another thing i usually do is analyze the landing page. It seems to me that landing pages are becoming sleazier and sleazier by the day. For example; some jamster ringtone offers use the word free (not that big of a deal to me); but those jamster pages say “Get Free Ringtones Text HOT33 to 4567″ which will pretty much divert the user from the landing page (making me and other aff marketers money) to making it a no cost sign up to jamster.

Here are my 6 tips to you for picking an offer:
1. Don’t always look for the highest paying offers (sure they pay well but what about the conversion rate?)
2. Before taking links because you like the offer check the landing page it could be a piece of crap/douche you out of leads by putting the merchants number or e-mail.
3. Google it; see how other people are promoting this (check how it looks etc; i am not promoting theft of ads but i am just suggesting you take a look at the competition).
4. Look at the offer in the eyes of a consumer and decide if you would buy the product/fill out the form or not.
5. If you just can’t do #4 call/e-mail a friend.
6. Get to work on the offer

I hope this helps,
Harrison

Offers in the eyes of minors

Filed under: CPA Offers — admin @ 1:51 am

Since i run e-mail submits and ringtone offers in addition to numerous other offers I wanted to see what my fellow peers thought and knew about these types of offers. On Friday I went to lunch (like I do everyday) with my little group of about 15 friends and I randomly said “Have you guys ever seen those ringtone things on the net?” After saying that I fueled a huge conversation where they began to discuss how much they dislike the offers because they never mention the price. I ended up responding by saying that they are wrong and all ringtone companies put in bold text the monthly fee at the bottom. After enduring 15 people’s bitching about ringtones I bluntly responded “Well guys if you knew how much those advertisers pay for one of those signups you would disagree!” That got them raving again and than one of them said “What about those scammy offers which claim to give you free shit!” Once i heard that I burst out laughing due to the fact that I do hundreds of E-mail submit leads per day off my websites. I explained that they shouldn’t be signing up for that shit any way. I also attempted to teach them a lesson by telling them “If it sounds to good to be true; it probably is!”

After hearing the raves and rants of my fellow peers when it comes to my main 2 niche’s i felt a little bad but at the same time just had to think about the thousands of satisfied people who actually do get their ipods and ringtones.

The whole point of this post is to let all of you guys know that I will be video taping some kids from school in a few days to see what they have to say about affiliate marketing….

Peace Out,
Har

Incentive Websites

Filed under: CPA Offers — admin @ 2:41 am

Being someone who earns a living using various means of online advertising i tend to come up with cool ideas which i think would make me a lot of money if I had the capabilities to actually start something like X or Y. Well I have come up with an idea which is simply out of my/my developers leagues of expertise. I have seen websites like this but my idea is superior (because i said so).

Well you guys have read my boring little introduction and I think its time I tell you my idea! I think a good incentivization website which actually paid users for leads and was coded in such a way that users could have various payouts based on the amount of offers they sign up for would be a cool idea. There are numerous Incentive’s websites out there which all have standard rates and payout at the end of the month or give users “Gifts” (websites such as www.giveawaycafe.com do gifts). The complicated thing in my head about some sort of incentive website like this is a way to actually automate a script into determening payouts for each individual “Affiliate”. I know its not that complicated but when I actually formed the idea it was like 5x better but i forgot it from the time i came up with the idea to now :(

Goodnight - See you guys at AD:TECH

Ringtones which are categorized “Free” In network portals?? WTF!

Filed under: CPA Offers — admin @ 12:47 pm

I have always been pretty sketched out by ring tone offers and i found this one when looking through offers today… I am curious how jamster can put the word “Free” in their offers when all the other ring tone companies can’t. The network which is running that offer is one of the Best networks i have ever worked with and i will be asking my affiliate manager about this!!! Check these screen shot’s out:

This is simply stunning, offers like this one: The

The Landing Page

Please post your info on offers like these because they are simply stunning to me with the serious ringtone laws out there (which can be found if you do enough googleing)

Bye from 2nd period photoshop :D

Teenagers and ring tones

Filed under: CPA Offers — admin @ 12:38 pm

As most of you know, I do attend high school like other kids my age. Although i do act like a kid; hang out with friends, text message, and talk in class I still keep my eye out for anything noticeable when it comes to my fields of expertise.
Yesterday at lunch i was sitting at a Mexican restaurant (we can leave for lunch :D) when i heard a kid in the booth behind me and my friend Nick talking about ring tones. He was really angry because he signed up for this ring tone plan thinking he would get free ring tones (which turned out to be false). His mother got the T-mobile bill and saw 22.00 in ring tone charges and his mother made him pay the $22.00. Personally i would just pay the $22.00 because a complaining mother is like a flailing whale (It will hit you). But, some people do consider $22.00 a lot of money and they refuse to pay it. These ring tone companies are trying to become sneaker and sneaker when inserting their terms of service. Now a days they are always sure to insert a “< small >” tag before they insert their legal jargon.

I have never had much success in the ring tone industry and i think that all those offers are simply a scam. Sure they pay high, but high payouts are not always the most important thing. Regardless of how you market ring tone offers there is an ethical factor in my book. Personally i feel unethical marketing ring tones through Adwords because teenagers search the internet for free ring tones ALL THE TIME. People tend to make stereo-types about my age group and they have every right in the world to do this. Teenagers need to learn to read the fine print and not fall for Scams which say “Totally Free” in the header and Automatically check the terms of service.

I know i rambled on and on about the ring tone scams in the industry but all i am really trying to say is Kids my age have no clue what they are doing on the internet. If its signing up to win a “free i-phone” or signing up for “free ring tones” they do not know how to read simple TOS’s and AUP’s on these landing pages. Most ring tone marketers who market offers through SEM probably do not care but personally i feel that it is unethical to market these ring tone offers which use the word “complimentary” but not “free” etc etc.

Post your thoughts,
Harrison
