What I did this week

Filed under: LeaderClicks, Press, travel — admin @ 10:08 pm

Hey Guys,
I went to SES San Jose and when I got back to my hotel room in SF when the Tradeshow part was over I discovered CommunityNext and that they were having a meetup for Publishers (Facebook Application Owners), and Advertisers (like my new product Leaderclicks) So I decided I had to go to this instead of SES, even though I had not officially released my new product. Once I registered I noticed that I had paid for a “booth” not just a ticket and I decided to go all out.
Here’s what I did: I decided that even though I was rushing the plan of a table/booth that I would have to do something really cool but simple at the same Time. I first went to Kinkos and ordered a Vinyl logo for leaderclicks (for the table). And than left to go buy my own “swag” for leaderclicks.

I decided to give out $15 Itunes Gift Cards to people at the show and after talking to the owner of the show he told me that ‘around’ 200 people were coming. So after receiving this information I headed directly to the Apple Store and purchased 200 gift cards. After standing at the counter for 45 minutes while they scanned each gift card I called my designer and had him design a sticker for me to put on the back of the itunes gift card case things.
The sticker looked like this:
the back of gift cards
I was successfully able to get a pretty cool 2×4ft vinyl banner for my table and I was also able to put stickers like that on the back of all 200 gift cards.

When I got back to my hotel room I took these pics with the gift cards:

more gift cards

I also had to take a picture of the receipt for only 180 of the 201 items I purchased as it’s honestly the longest receipt I have ever seen/had.

Receipt #1

here is a pic to get a good sense of how ridiculous this receipt is

Long ways receipt

Overall I had a great time at CommunityNext and picked up a bunch of new contacts. I also really enjoyed SES although I didn’t get any pics I did do an interview with Shoemoney which you should check out.
I have lots to post in the next few weeks so stay tuned!

Co-Hosted The Shoemoney Show Last Night, Pretty Cool

Filed under: Press — admin @ 5:16 am

Hey Guys,
Last night I had the ability to co-host the shoemoney show from Monte Carlo. It was a pretty good experience. The first guest we had on the show was Francois from B2Evolution.net which is a blogging platform like Wordpress. I think I might try it out. Than we had a guy named Thor whose project is TopAffiliateProgram, I was impressed with all the sponsorships he’s doing but think he’s going with the E-book approach, something I personally don’t really support. I didn’t really open up till towards the end since I was a bit nervous but eventually my heart stopped pounding haha.

I have some surprises coming out in the next few weeks in re. to radio etc (hint) and I hope you guys will be excited. I am flying back to Cali on Friday and am not looking forward to it!

Ill try and do one more blog post from Monaco if not whatever.

Recap Of My Recent Travels

Filed under: Press, Search Engine Marketing, about harrison — admin @ 6:19 pm

Hey Guys,
I’m not really busy the moment I arrived back into Santa Barbara and Havent had a chance to recap my recent travels…

I was in Las Vegas not attending the affiliate summit but I had some meetings and I really wanted to get a chance to meet my CX Digital Affiliate manager Debrani. I stayed at a ridiculous suite at the Venetian and had a great time. Although they gave me trouble when I was checking in (They wouldn’t accept my amex because I wasn’t 21, it took a few minutes to convince/talk to them) that was no where near the amount of trouble the Wynn gave me for my age. When I was walking with my friend Larby, and my CX Digital affiliate manager Debrani at the Wynn I was pretty thirsty so i walked up to a little cafe/bar and asked the bartender for a glass of water, He replied “Are You 21?” I replied “No” and he than told me “I can’t be in the casino alone etc.” He refused to give me water even after I told him I wasnt alone and was with Debrani who IS over 21 etc. They than carded Debrani for her to get me a glass of water, Vegas is pathetic in terms of age.
On Saturday Night i attended the Affiliate Dinner with Steve, One of the AffSpy guys. I went as “Paul Borque” (The Uberaffiliate) because he wasn’t in Vegas yet and I wasn’t cool enough to get invited etc. :P After that dinner me and my friend Larby hung out for a while and we just checked out vegas (As people under 21, it sucks).

Sunday was pretty sick since that was when I got to meet Debrani and when I got to go to the CX Digital Party At The Palms. I don’t know what I should blog about and what I Shouldn’t (I don’t want to get you guys in trouble) Lol BUT I will just sum it up in a few words: FUCKING AWESOME

I liked Vegas and had a pretty productive stay etc. Once I got back from Vegas I had two days to catch up on stuff and was than back on the road for SMX WEST.

I got into SMX west on Wednesday Night which was kind of weird since it was the first time I showed up for a conference right smack in the middle of it. It was pretty cool hanging out with a lot of Industry Leaders who I have met and chilled with at other conferences, I don’t see them to often ;). I also got to meet some people whom I have talked to in the past etc like Shoemoney and some people from various companies like Doubleclick etc. It was really funny when I was checking into the Hyatt Santa Clara (which is a piece of shit hotel by the way) I saw a few people from CX Digital walk by me which was totally ironic since I was 1. Wearing a CX shirt and 2. Had no clue that they were going to be at SMX.

While chilling in the bar of the hotel with a lot of people Neil Patel came up with this genius idea to actually go to Ihop for breakfast. After about 30 minutes of drunken laughs (I wasn’t drunk, sucks) we got up and hustled over to Ihop. A lot of fun shit went down but to sum it up I have to tell you guys what Jay (forgot his last name) did. This guy Jay was pretty hammered and ordered 12 eggs sunny side up. He ate them all with a whole bottle of Tobasco on top. He than had a bit of a run in with the cops lol but I left in my cab when the cops started being complete dicks.

Thursday Morning was kind of harsh waking up at like 9am since I ended up going to sleep at like 5 am and had to go speak. I was on the panel “Generation Google: A Talk With Todays Teens” and got to talk about how me, and other teens use search engines like google, yahoo, and msn. Although I wasn’t able to really talk about how I do Search Marketing/How I Promote To “Todays Teens” I enjoyed speaking on a panel and hope to do more :). If you want to read more about my panel you can check out The Live Blog Of My Panel

Well I’m going to go do another blog post on how I’m going to elite retreat BUT,
Later

Hey Guys,
Last week I saw a contest post on mashable for the myspace development platform launch party in San Francisco tomorrow. I submitted my idea and from the moment I sent it off I had a feeling I was going to go to that party, because my idea rocks

I am really excited to finally use the infrastructure I have established to my advantage and make some pretty sick applications.

This Really Makes Me Happy Since It Truly Shows That Age Doesn’t Matter

I’ll take pics for you guys!

About My Article - How i got diamonds

Filed under: Press — admin @ 1:32 pm

Hey All
so i have been getting tens of emails daily of people asking me questions/giving compliments on my article. The most common question that I’m getting is “How did you manage to get diamonds at 13?” So i figured i’d make a blog post about it lol.

When i was almost 13 i went on ebay and tried to find a “Trading Assistant” who was in my town (A trading assistant is a person/business like the I-soldit franchise I wanted to bring them business via friends at school and get a cut of the commission the trading assistant received. I ended up finding a guy whose name is Crispin; I asked if he would let me sell stuff/help him find customers and he said sure. My job slowly turned from me selling my friends stuff on ebay (He just showed me the ropes :P), to me buying diamonds and coins from Crispin to sell on my own. It was a very fun endeavor but i was getting overwhelmed going to the Post Office every day and shipping out 30-40 packages!!

I ended up doing like 300 or so transactions on overstock auctions and a lot on ebay too. I tried to stick to overstock auctions as ebay Suspended my first account one day when i listed 10 auctions totaling $10-$15k in value. They required to see proof i owned the diamonds etc (it was a big pain in the ass).

Any other questions??:P

A new computer

Filed under: Press, Website Traffic, about harrison — admin @ 2:57 am

Hey All,
I just thought i would tell everybody that I just bought a new pc. It was a cheap $500.00 COMPAQ just so I could directly connect with my linux servers. I finally installed Ubuntu and it is awesome. If linux had all the cool applications that windows had I believe that Bill gates would not be the richest man in the world!

On another note; I am currently working on 2 new posts: 1 which will discuss 10 affiliate networks 5 good ones and 5 shitty ones; In addition to a post which lists my top 10 heroes. If your a reader/an affiliate manager of mine you better expect a shout (hehe dan and jeremy!)

Goodnight,
Harrison
